TIP Group and the Groupe MOUSSET-JETRANSPORTE join forces for a more responsible and sustainable milk collection through the tanker refurbishment

TIP strengthens its commitment to the ecological transition of the dairy sector with the launch of an innovative milk collection tanker refurbishment program. This project aims to extend vehicles lifespan while delivering significant economic and environmental benefits to key customers, including the Groupe MOUSSET-JETRANSPORTE.

In response to the climate emergency, rising cost pressures, and limited availability of new vehicles, this initiative focuses on sustainability and resource optimization.

TIP’s refurbishment process, lasting approximately 4 months, follows a rigorous 100-points inspection protocol. The operations include a complete cleaning, sandblasting and painting of the chassis – a critical component subject to harsh conditions in the agri-food industry – replacement of key components (axles, pumping system, EBS, lighting, etc.) and the integration of new technologies (LED lighting, telematics, TPMS). A final documented inspection ensures full traceability of the process.

The benefits for clients are multiple:

·       A 35% reduction in CO₂ emissions over 18 years per refurbished vehicle

·       Significantly lower rental costs, while maintaining near-new reliability and performance

·       Faster availability than new vehicle (around 4 months depending on scope of work)

·       Enhanced CSR value to clients and partners.

Groupe MOUSSET-JETRANSPORTE, a committed partner

Groupe MOUSSET-JETRANSPORTE, through its subsidiary LORALAIT – the leader in private milk collection in France – was the first to add a TIP-refurbished tanker to its fleet.

"We chose TIP's refurbished tankers for economic and environmental reasons. It extends the service life of our equipment by 8 years, reduces resource consumption, and aligns perfectly with our CSR policy focused on reuse and repair," explains Fabien Jolly, After-Sales Coordinator at Groupe MOUSSET-JETRANSPORTE.

A true co-development effort

More than just a client, Groupe MOUSSET-JETRANSPORTE played an active role in developing this offering.

"The feedback from the MOUSSET-JETRANSPORTE teams was invaluable. They shared their on-the-ground experience, helped confirm our technical choices, and validated our approach at every stage," says David Minguy, Key Account Manager at TIP. "We found in them a dedicated partner who supported our team by sharing their industry expertise and demonstrating their genuine interest in refurbished vehicles," he adds.

"The collaboration with TIP was smooth, constructive, and built on trust. Their listening and responsiveness resulted in a solution perfectly meets our needs, and we now have more efficient and comfortable equipment for our teams," concludes Fabien Jolly.

This innovative offering marks a new milestone in the shared commitment of both groups toward more sustainable, responsible, and economically viable tanker transport.
